Death of a Community Foretold

"Death of a Community Foretold" is a story about a pocket of Cuddalore's coastal countryside, where the residents live in the shadows of chemical industries. The SIPCOT chemical industrial estate is the smelly armpit of industrial civilization. This is a story of a frustrated community struggling to get the Government to save them from the industrial pollution. The Government has other plans. Cuddalore has been earmarked to accommodate the most polluting industries, including a PVC plastic factory. All that the community wants is a clean environment and healthy children. But that, we're told, is economically unviable.
